Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1 c
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- flour, sifted
- quick cooking oatmeal - 2 c
- walnut meats - 1/2 c
How to make oatmeal crispies:
Thoroughly cream shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Add beaten eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add sifted flour, salt and baking soda. Add oatmeal and walnut meats. Mix well and form in long rolls. Chill thoroughly. Slice 1/4-inch thick. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350° for 10 minutes. Makes a delicious crisp cookie!
