Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 1 c
  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • margarine or butter - 1/4 c
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • quick cooking oats
  • ground cinnamon - 1/2 tsp

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Heat oven to 375°. Mix all ingredients, except oats and flour. Stir in oats and flour. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until lightly brown, about 10 minutes. Remove immediately from cookie sheet.
