Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • Quick Quaker oats - 3 c

How to make oatmeal cookies:

Cook oats 2 1/2 minutes. Sift flour before measuring. Mix all dry ingredients, except sugar. Melt shortening and mix thoroughly with brown sugar. Add egg and beat well. Pour in milk, then dry ingredients. Drop on greased pan; bake in hot oven at 450°. Bake for 20 minutes. Makes 36 cookies.
