Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- molasses - 6 Tbsp
- sifted flour
- rolled oats - 2 c
- soft, solid shortening - 1/2 c
How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies:
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, soda and sugar into a large bowl. Add eggs, shortening (at room temperature), molasses and vanilla. With a wooden spoon, stir until smooth about 1 1/2 minutes. Add chocolate chips and oatmeal; stir until it is blended evenly. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls and 4 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 325° oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
