Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- quick cooking oats - 2 c
- chopped walnuts or pecans - 1/2 c
How to make chocolate chip oatmeal cookies:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; set aside. Cream together shortening, brown sugar and sugar in bowl until light and fluffy, using electric mixer at medium speed. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Blend in vanilla. Gradually stir dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts. Drop by teaspoon on greased baking sheet. Bake in 350° oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 6 1/2 dozen.Recipe categories: Desserts, Drop cookies, Cookie and brownie.
