Oatmeal chocolate chip cake
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1/2 c
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 3 item
- packed brown sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- all-purpose flour
- chopped walnuts - 3/4 c
- uncooked oatmeal - 1 c
- chocolate chips, divided - 1 pkg
How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cake:
In a bowl, pour water over oatmeal. Allow to stand 10 minutes. Add sugar, butter and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Sift flour, soda, cocoa and salt together. Add to batter. Stir in half of chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Sprinkle top with walnuts and remaining chocolate chips.
