  • sugar - 1 c
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • boiling water
  • large eggs - 2 item
  • oats - 1 c
  • 1 stick butter - 1/2 c
  • nuts walnuts - 3/4 c

How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cake:

Pour boiling water over oats. Let stand 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and margarine. Stir until margarine melts. Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, soda and cocoa. Add to sugar mixture. Mix well and add 1 cup of chocolate chips. Pour into 9 x 13-inch greased and floured pan. Sprinkle nuts and remaining chips on top. Bake at 350° about 40 minutes.
