Oatmeal chocolate chip cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
- flour
- brown sugar - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 1/2 Tbsp
- chocolate chips - 1 pkg
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- large eggs - 2 item
- stick butter - 1 item
- uncooked oatmeal - 1 c
How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cake:
Pour boiling water over oatmeal. Let stand at room temperature for 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and butter. Stir until butter melts. Add eggs. Mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Add flour to sugar mixture. Mix well. Add about half the chips. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle walnuts and remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake in preheated oven to 350° about 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Grains.
