Oatmeal chocolate chip cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 3 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- cocoa - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- all-purpose flour
- margarine, softened - 1/2 c
- uncooked oatmeal - 1 c
- chocolate chips, divided - 2 c
How to make oatmeal chocolate chip cake:
In a mixing bowl pour water over oatmeal. Allow to stand 10 minutes. Add sugars and margarine, stirring until the margarine melts. Add eggs, one-at-a-time, mixing well after each addition. Sift flour, soda, cocoa and salt together. Add to batter. Mix well. Stir in half of the chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Sprinkle top of cake with remaining chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake at 350° for about 40 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Grains.
