Chocolate oatmeal cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 1 c
- brown sugar - 3/4 c
- evaporated milk - 1/4 c
- coconut - 1 c
- cocoa - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water
- shortening - 1/2 c
- oatmeal - 1 c
- Sift dry ingredients; set aside
How to make chocolate oatmeal cake:
Mix oats and water. Sift dry ingredients; set aside. Cream shortening; add sugar and one egg at a time. Beat well. Add vanilla, then add alternately the dry ingredients and oat mixture. Pour into a greased 8 x 11 x 2-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.Topping:4 Tbsp. margarine3/4 c. brown sugar1/4 c. evaporated milk1/4 tsp. vanilla1 c. chopped nuts1 c. coconut Mix.
