Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 3 4
- garlic salt - 1/2 tsp
- ground beef
- oregano - 1/2 tsp
- large can stewed tomatoes - 1 item
- box Velveeta cheese - 2 lb
- box mostaccioli noodles - 1 oz
- regular can tomato sauce - 1 item
How to make mostaccioli:
Brown ground beef and drain fat. Put tomatoes in a blender just on low to lightly chop up. Pour in skillet with beef. Add tomato sauce and tomato soup (no water). Add garlic, oregano and brown sugar. Simmer on low for about 30 minutes. In a large pot, boil mostaccioli until tender (do not overcook or it gets mushy). Drain.In a 9 x 13-inch pan, put 1/2 the drained noodles. Pour over the noodles 1/2 the sauce. Lay slices of Velveeta on top to cover all. Repeat with remaining noodles, meat and cheese. Put in oven at 350° for about 20 to 30 minutes. (Do not let the cheese on top get brown; only needs to be heated through.) Serves 5 or 8.
Serve with salad and hot garlic bread and cheese cake or a cool dessert.
