Monkey bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- salt
- boiling water - 1 c
- shortening - 1 c
- warm water - 1 c
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- yeast - 1 pkg
- flour all-purpose - 6 c
- sticks melted margarine - 2 item
How to make monkey bread:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix shortening, sugar and salt in second bowl. Add boiling water and mix well. Add eggs; stir well. Add flour and yeast.Let this rise until double. Punch down. Add enough flour so dough can be rolled out about 1/2 or 1/3-inch thick. Cut in various shapes. Dip in melted margarine. Lay in two tube pans until each pan is half full. Let rise to top of pans. Bake at 350° until brown, about 45 minutes.
