Molasses crinkles
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- granulated sugar - 1 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- soda - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/4 c
- all-purpose flour
- molasses - 1/4 c
- ginger - 1 tsp
- brown sugar, packed - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
How to make molasses crinkles:
Mix shortening, sugar, egg, and molasses thoroughly. Blend all dry ingredients; mix together. Chill. Heat oven to 375°. Roll dough in 1 1/4 balls. Dip tops in sugar. Place balls, sugar side up, 3 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Sprinkle each with 2 or 3 drops of water. Bake 10-12 minutes, or just until set but not hard. (Do not over bake.)
