Mincemeat pie filling
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 5 tsp
- salt
- raisins
- suet - 1/4 lb
- raw beef or 1 lb - 2 lb
- apples I like to use more
- a little cloves - 1 item
- cider or fruit juice to make it thin - 1 item
How to make mincemeat pie filling:
Grind beef, apples, raisins and suet. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer 1 hour. Stir frequently to prevent sticking. Pack hot, into hot jars, leaving 1 inch headspace. Adjust caps. Process pints and quarts 20 minutes at 10 pound pressure or 1 hour and 30 minutes in boiling water bath.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
