Mayonnaise
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- oil - 2 c
- egg - 1 item
- soy sauce - 1 Tbsp
- mustard - 1 tsp
- Mayonnaise - 1/2 c
- clove garlic, chopped fine - 1 item
- cayenne, tarragon and dill to taste - 1 item
- Add slowly the oil
- sorrel, stems removed - 1/2 lb
- dash of cayenne or red pepper depending on heat preference - 1 item
How to make mayonnaise:
Mix egg, mustard, salt, sugar, cayenne, tarragon and dill in blender. Add slowly the oil. Blend again until thick.Fresh Sorrel Mayonnaise:1/2 c. plain yogurt1/2 c. Mayonnaise1/2 lb. sorrel, stems removed1 Tbsp. soy sauce1 clove garlic, chopped fine dash of cayenne or red pepper (depending on heat preference) Note: Sorrel returns year after year in my raised bed. It is a tangy taste treat.In food processor or blender, blend all ingredients together. Makes 1 1/2 cups. A wonderful sauce for fresh, grilled salmon or halibut.
