Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1 Tbsp
  • water - 3 qt
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • large onion, chopped - 1 item
  • cayenne pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • can tomatoes - 1 lb
  • to 8 strips bacon - 6 item
  • large stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
  • beef shin bone - 1 lb
  • frozen mixed soup vegetables with okra - 1 pkg
  • crab meat or 6 to 8 cooked and steamed crabs pick center part and throw in claws - 1 lb

How to make maryland crab soup:

Brown beef in soup pot with bacon strips. Add other ingredients, except frozen vegetables and crab meat. Cook 3 hours or until meat is tender. Add rest of ingredients and simmer covered until vegetables are done. If you want it hotter, add a few dashes of Tabasco sauce, or have it available on serving.
