Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 3 Tbsp
  • evaporated milk
  • water
  • stick butter - 1/2 item
  • medium onion, thinly sliced - 1/2 item
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • oregano - 1/2 tsp
  • Minute rice
  • chopped parsley - 1 Tbsp
  • dash of cayenne pepper - 1 item
  • can tuna fish - 7 oz
  • can whole tomatoes, drained - 1 lb

How to make mardi gras casserole:

Melt butter in pan. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Mix until smooth. Add evaporated milk and cook until thick. Add cheeses and stir until melted. Place uncooked Minute rice or cooked rice in 7 x 11 x 1 3/4-inch baking dish. Sprinkle oregano, cayenne pepper and parsley on rice. Add water and stir to moisten. Layer tomatoes and onion, then tuna. Pour cheese sauces over all. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes.
