Marble squares

Ingredients/Components

• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• granulated sugar - 3/4 c
• butter or margarine - 1 c
• salt - 1 tsp
• water - 1/2 tsp
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• all-purpose flour
• firmly packed brown sugar - 3/4 c
• semisweet chocolate chips - 2 c

How to make marble squares:

In a small mixing bowl combine flour, salt and baking soda; set aside. In a large bowl with electric mixer cream together butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla and water. Add flour mixture and blend well. Stir in by hand 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips. Pour into greased 9-inch by 9-inch by 2-inch baking pan and sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips over batter. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and run a knife through the top layer of chocolate chips and bake 1 more minute.
