Ingredients/Components

  • oil - 1 c
  • vinegar - 1/4 c
  • white sugar
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • salt to taste - 1 item
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • can water chestnuts - 1 item
  • head romaine lettuce - 1 item
  • head red leaf lettuce - 1 item
  • strips bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled optional - 5 item

How to make lettuce salad:

Dressing:3/4 c. white sugar1 c. oil1/4 c. vinegar2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce1 medium onion, chopped salt to taste Mix dressing ingredients well. Store in refrigerator. Add to lettuce and water chestnuts. Garnish with crumbled bacon.

Spinach can be used in place of the lettuce. If used, garnish with 2 hard-boiled eggs.
