Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- butter - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- grated rind of 1 lemon
- Combine dry ingredients and sift
How to make lemon bread:
Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Combine dry ingredients and sift. Add to first mixture, alternately with milk. Mix well. Stir in rind and nuts. Line sides and bottom of loaf pan with foil and grease. Bake at 350° for about 60 minutes. Remove from oven. While bread is still hot, immediately pour over glaze. Pour slowly so the glaze soaks in. Better if made a day ahead.
