Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • butter - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • chopped walnuts - 1 c
  • mashed bananas - 1 c
  • sour milk - 1 c

How to make banana walnut cake:

Frosting:5 Tbsp. flour1 c. milk1 c. butter1 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla Cream first 6 ingredients. Blend dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Add nuts. Bake 1/2 hour at 350° in greased 9 x 12-inch cake pan.

Frosting: Cook milk and flour until thickened. Cool. Beat butter, sugar and vanilla into flour/milk mixture. Butter should be cool (not melted). Take from refrigerator about 1/2 hour before using. Frost and enjoy!
