Leftover turkey casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- butter
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- grated Cheddar cheese - 1 c
- small onion, chopped - 1 item
- potato chips, crushed - 1/2 c
- small green pepper, chopped optional - 1 item
- leftover turkey, chopped - 3 4
How to make leftover turkey casserole:
White Sauce:4 Tbsp. butter4 Tbsp. flour1 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. pepper2 c. milk Melt butter over low heat; add flour, salt and pepper. Stir until well blended. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in milk and return to heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until thick and smooth. Makes 2 cups.Mix chopped turkey, onion, green pepper, Cheddar cheese, salt and pepper. Mix into white sauce. Pour into casserole and put crushed potato chips on top. Bake in 350° oven for 20 to 30 minutes. You may wish to serve this over potatoes or cooked noodles or you may mix cooked noodles into turkey mixture before baking.
