Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 2 tsp
  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt
  • egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
  • garlic powder - 1 item
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • grated Parmesan cheese - 1 c
  • Mazola corn oil - 2 Tbsp
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 12 oz
  • oregano - 1 tsp
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • onions, chopped - 1 c
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz
  • container cottage cheese - 1 (16

How to make lasagna:

For meat sauce, in a frying pan, heat corn oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, onion and garlic powder. Cook for about 18 minutes, or until browned. In blender, place 1 can tomatoes; blend on high speed for 30 seconds, until finely chopped. Add to beef mixture. Stir in tomato paste, sugar, salt, oregano and pepper; bring to a boil. Set aside until needed.

In a small bowl, stir together the cottage cheese, egg and 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese. In a 13 x 9 x 2-inch roasting pan, spread layer of meat sauce. Add lasagna noodles, cottage cheese mixture, then another layer of meat sauce. Add remaining noodles, cottage cheese mixture (if any left) and remaining sauce. Top with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, or until bubbly.
