  • sugar - 2 c
  • cinnamon
  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 3/4 tsp
  • granulated sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • baking powder - 4 tsp
  • salad oil - 1 c
  • orange juice - 1 c
  • chopped walnuts optional - 3/4 c
  • to 6 apples, peeled, cored, cut into slices - 5 item

How to make jewish apple cake:

Cinnamon Sugar:1 Tbsp. cinnamon1 c. granulated sugar Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together. Make a well in center of mixture. Stir in orange juice, salad oil and eggs; beat well. Pour half of mixture into greased 10-inch tube pan and add sliced apples on top of butter (nuts sprinkled on top at this point, optional). Sprinkle with mixture of sugar and cinnamon (save some for top), then add rest of butter, remainder of apples on top and again sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture (also nuts, if using). Bake at 350° for approximately 1 hour 20 minutes or until center comes cleaned with tested with knife.
