  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • pecans - 1 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • egg whites, beaten - 5 item

How to make italian cream cake:

Icing:1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese1/2 c. margarine1 box powdered sugar Combine first 6 ingredients and mix well. Add coconut and pecans. Fold in egg whites. Bake in 3 layers at 350°.

Combine cream cheese, margarine and powdered sugar. Beat well. Frost cake when cool.
