  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • eggs, separated - 5 item
  • coconut - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 item
  • Cream margarine and Crisco

How to make italian cream cake:

Beat egg whites and set aside. Cream margarine and Crisco. Add sugar and egg yolks. (Do not use light margarine.) Add alternately with flour, soda and buttermilk. Add vanilla, pecans and coconut. Blend in egg whites. Bake in three 9-inch pans at 350° until done. Cool and frost.Cream Cheese Frosting:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese1 stick margarine1 box powdered sugar Mix all together and frost.
