Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cream cheese
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/4 c
- egg yolks - 5 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- egg whites - 5 item
- stick butter - 1 item
- cooking oil - 1/2 c
- box confectioners sugar - 1 item
- can coconut - 1 item
How to make italian cream cake:
Icing:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese1/4 c. butter1 box confectioners sugar Cake: Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time, and beat well after each. Add flour alternately with milk. Add soda in buttermilk. Fold in vanilla and egg whites. Add nuts and coconut, leaving small amount of each for icing. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes for layers. (Bake in a 13 x 9-inch loaf pan for 1 hour).Icing: Mix cream cheese, butter and confectioners sugar until smooth and creamy. Ice. Sprinkle with coconut and nuts. This cake freezes well.
