- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 5 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- shortening - 1/2 c
- pecans - 1 c
- can coconut - 1 item
How to make italian cream cake:
Beat 5 egg whites stiffly. Cream margarine with shortening. Add sugar, beat until smooth. Add egg yolks, one at a time. Beat well. Sift flour and soda together. Add to mixture with buttermilk, coconut, pecans and egg whites. Flour and grease 3 cake pans. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
