Hush puppies

Ingredients/Components

• oil - 1 Tbsp
• buttermilk - 1 c
• self-rising flour - 1 c
• medium onion, finely chopped - 1 item
• black pepper - 1/2 tsp
• self-rising corn meal - 2 c

How to make hush puppies:

Mix meal, flour and onion well and gradually add buttermilk until dough reaches proper consistency. Dip by rounded spoonfuls into hot, deep fat in which fish has been fried. Serve hot.
