Hush puppies

Ingredients/Components

• salt - 1 tsp
• flour - 1 Tbsp
• soda - 1/2 tsp
• buttermilk - 1 c
• baking powder - 1 tsp
• egg - 1 item
• chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
• corn meal - 2 c
• jalapenos optional, seeded and chopped - 2 item

How to make hush puppies:

Mix dry ingredients; sift and add beaten egg, buttermilk and chopped onion and mix. Drop into hot fat and fry to golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot.
