  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1 tsp
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • buttermilk - 2 c
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • chopped onions - 6 tsp
  • corn meal - 2 c
  • whole egg, beaten - 1 item

How to make hush puppies:

Mix and sift together all dry ingredients. Add onions. Combine beaten egg with milk. Add to dry ingredients. Drop by spoon into deep, hot grease where fish have been cooked. When done, they will float.
