Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 tsp
- sour cream - 1 c
- cakes compressed yeast - 2 item
- butter not margarine - 1 lb
- egg yolks save whites - 4 item
- Filling:1 jar apricot jam or nuts
How to make hungarian cookies:
Filling:1 jar apricot jam or nuts Heat sour cream to lukewarm. Add yeast and sugar. Cool and set aside. Mix flour and butter as you would for pie crust. Add beaten egg yolks and yeast mixture. Mix together with hands until dough leaves sides of bowl. Dough will be sticky but keep working until stickiness leaves. Take small portion and roll out to 1/4-inch on floured board. Cut in 3-inch squares. Add filling and roll into crescent shape, starting at one corner. Brush tops with beaten egg whites. Bake at 350° until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
