Ingredients/Components
- loaf frozen bread dough, thawed - 1 (1
- raisins - 1/2 c
- chopped candied citron - 2 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
- nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
- butter or oleo, melted - 1/4 c
- confectioners icing - 1 item
- Flatten dough to 1/2-inch thickness
- milk - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
How to make hot cross buns:
Cover dough; let rise until doubled. Flatten dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Add raisins, citron and spices; knead to mix. Divide into 12 equal pieces; shape into ball. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Cover; let rise until doubled. Brush with butter. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes.
