  • loaf frozen bread dough, thawed - 1 (1
  • raisins - 1/2 c
  • chopped candied citron - 2 Tbsp
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • butter or oleo, melted - 1/4 c
  • confectioners icing - 1 item
  • Flatten dough to 1/2-inch thickness
  • milk - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1/2 tsp

How to make hot cross buns:

Cover dough; let rise until doubled. Flatten dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Add raisins, citron and spices; knead to mix. Divide into 12 equal pieces; shape into ball. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Cover; let rise until doubled. Brush with butter. Bake at 400° for 12 to 15 minutes. Form cross with icing.Confectioners Icing:2/3 c. confectioners sugar1 tsp. milk1/2 tsp. vanilla
