  • milk - 1/4 c
  • butter - 4 Tbsp
  • cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
  • light brown sugar - 1 c
  • rum - 1 c
  • egg, whipped - 1 item

How to make hot buttered rum sauce:

Melt butter in saucepan. Combine sugar and cornstarch; add to butter while stirring. Add milk, egg and rum. Cook until smooth and glossy. Serve over pound cake, bread pudding or ice cream.
