- leftover toast - 1 item
- leftover bread or dry overnight fresh bread slices - 1 item
How to make homemade croutons:
Toast. Sprinkle with garlic salt or powder, paprika, pepper and any favorite herb. Cube the seasoned toast. Toss into a screwtop jar.Cube leftover bread and lightly fry in oleo or oil until lightly browned. Season with favorite herbs plus grated hard cheese. Place in screw top jar.
Keep both in refrigerator (or freeze). Use with salads or soups. Refrigerated will keep several weeks, frozen several months.
