Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- cider vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- dash of black pepper - 1 item
- onion juice optional - 1/4 tsp
- 2 can sliced beets
How to make harvard beets:
Drain beets, saving liquid. Melt butter. Blend in flour. Slowly add beet liquid and stir constantly over direct heat until sauce boils and thickens. Add remaining ingredients and the beets and continue heating slowly until beets are hot through. Serve at once. Makes 5 servings.Recipe categories: American, Side dish, Vegetables.
