Ham and scalloped potatoes
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- margarine or butter - 3 Tbsp
- all-purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped fresh parsley - 2 Tbsp
- , thinly sliced about 4 c - 6 medium
- cubed fully cooked smoked ham
How to make ham and scalloped potatoes:
Heat 3 tablespoons margarine in 1 1/2-quart saucepan over low heat until melted. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and bubbly; remove from heat. Stir in milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 minute. Stir in parsley.Heat oven to 350°. Grease 2-quart casserole. Layer one-third of the potatoes, one-half of the onion and ham and one-third of the white sauce in casserole; repeat. Top with remaining potatoes and sauce. Dot with 1 tablespoon margarine. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake until potatoes are tender, 60 to 70 minutes longer. Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving. Yields 6 servings.
