Green tomato pickles
Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 2 qt
- celery seed - 3 Tbsp
- mustard seed - 1 c
- turmeric - 3 Tbsp
- onions - 12 item
- pickling spices - 3 Tbsp
- sweet green peppers - 6 item
- sweet red peppers - 8 item
- heads cabbage - 2 item
- peck green tomatoes - 1 item
- pint salt - 1 item
- sugar half white and half brown - 5 lb
How to make green tomato pickles:
Dice first 5 ingredients and mix together. Pour salt over mixture and let stand approximately 2 hours. Place in cloth bag and let drain over night. On next day, heat vinegar, sugar, and spices to a boil. Add drained mixture and let boil 15 minutes. Seal in canning jars.
