Green pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- cornstarch
- water - 1/2 c
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- ground ginger - 1/8 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- soy sauce - 1/2 c
- beer - 1/4 c
- minced onions - 2 Tbsp
- green bell pepper, sliced - 1 item
- onion chunks - 1/4 item
- round flank steak, sliced thin 1/4-inch or less - 2 lb
How to make green pepper steak:
Gravy:4 Tbsp. cornstarch1/2 c. water Note: Works well in wok or big skillet.Combine soy sauce, minced onion, garlic, sugar, ginger and beer. Mix. Place meat in a large bowl. Pour marinade over meat and let set at room temperature, covered, for 2 to 3 hours or overnight in refrigerator. Drain meat. Pour oil in wok or skillet and turn heat to high. Place part of the steak in wok or skillet and stir-fry for 2 minutes or until tender. Push to the side. Repeat with remaining steak. Push to side. Combine cornstarch and water to make gravy. Bring to a boil. Add chunks of onion and green pepper. Serve over rice.
