Chinese pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/4 c
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- ginger - 1/4 tsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- medium green peppers - 3 item
- small tomatoes - 3 item
How to make chinese pepper steak:
Slice steak into very thin strips diagonally. Combine cornstarch, sugar and ginger; stir in soy sauce. Pour mixture over meat; stir. Cut peppers into thin strips and tomatoes into wedges. Quickly brown meat, one third at a time, in hot oil; remove from pan. Reduce heat; add peppers, garlic and water to pan and cook until peppers are tender-crisp, 5 to 6 minutes.
