Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2/3 c
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- cocoa - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- boiling water - 1 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- Filling:1 stick butter do not use light
How to make gobs:
Filling:1 stick butter (do not use light)1/2 c. Crisco1 c. sugar3 tsp. flour2/3 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla Cookies: Cream together the sugar and margarine. Add eggs and salt. Add cocoa to boiling water; set aside. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, vanilla and cocoa water. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for about 8 minutes. (Check bottoms so they do not burn; you may need to adjust baking time.) Cool on rack.Filling: Beat all ingredients together very well with mixer until fluffy and no longer separates. Put filling between 2 cookies. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. These cookies freeze well.
