  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 2/3 c
  • butter or margarine - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • cocoa - 1/2 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • boiling water - 1 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • Filling:1 stick butter do not use light

How to make gobs:

Filling:1 stick butter (do not use light)1/2 c. Crisco1 c. sugar3 tsp. flour2/3 c. milk1 tsp. vanilla Cookies: Cream together the sugar and margarine. Add eggs and salt. Add cocoa to boiling water; set aside. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, vanilla and cocoa water. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for about 8 minutes. (Check bottoms so they do not burn; you may need to adjust baking time.) Cool on rack.

Filling: Beat all ingredients together very well with mixer until fluffy and no longer separates. Put filling between 2 cookies. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving. These cookies freeze well.
