German potato salad
Ingredients/Components
- boiled, sliced potatoes - 20 item
- bacon crisp - 1 pkg
- bacon grease left from bacon - 1 item
- large onions, diced - 2 item
- flour - 4 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1 c
- sugar or more to taste - 1/2 c
- water - 2 c
- celery seed to taste - 1 item
- hard-boiled eggs, diced - 6 item
How to make german potato salad:
After boiling potatoes, clean and slice into large bowl. Cook bacon until crisp; take bacon out of skillet. Use the remaining bacon grease; add diced onions, vinegar, sugar and water; let simmer, stirring, until onions are done. Add flour by making a white paste to mixture and stir until thick but runny. Pour mixture over potatoes. Add eggs and celery seed to taste. Cut up crisp bacon and mix.Recipe categories: Salads, Side dish, Potato.
