Ingredients/Components

  • chopped pecans - 1 c
  • vanilla flavoring - 1/2 tsp
  • evaporated milk - 2/3 c
  • egg yolks - 2 item
  • flaked coconut
  • white sugar - 2/3 c
  • Crisco shortening - 1/3 c

How to make german chocolate icing:

Combine sugar, milk, egg yolks and shortening. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, coconut and pecans. Cool for 15 minutes. Put on cake.
