German chocolate caramel bars
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- German Chocolate Cake Mix - 1 pkg
- light caramels - 1 pkg
How to make german chocolate caramel bars:
Preheat oven to 350°. Melt caramels with 1/2 cup of evaporated milk in double boiler. In mixing bowl, combine rest of milk, butter, and cake mix. Take 1/2 of cake mix and spread on bottom of greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Press out with hands. Bake for 6 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of cake. Spread melted caramels on top of chips. Crumble the rest of the cake mix on top. Bake for 16-18 minutes.Hint: For easier cutting, refrigerate first. Yield: 8 dozen.
