German chocolate brownies
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- chopped pecans - 3/4 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- flaked coconut - 1/3 c
- all-purpose flour - 3/4 c
- butter or margarine, melted - 1/2 c
- eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
- egg yolks, lightly beaten - 2 item
- Add slightly cooled chocolate, flour, pecans, butter and vanilla; beat well
How to make german chocolate brownies:
Combine eggs and sugar; beat well. Add slightly cooled chocolate, flour, pecans, butter and vanilla; beat well. Spread batter in a greased 9-inch square baking pan. Bake at 350° for 40 minutes. Cool completely in pan. Spread frosting evenly over brownies and cut into 1 1/2-inch squares. Yields 3 dozen.Frosting:1/2 c. evaporated milk1/2 c. sugar1/4 c. butter or margarine2 egg yolks, lightly beaten1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. chopped pecans1/3 c. flaked coconut Combine milk, sugar, butter and egg yolks in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat. Stir until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, pecans and coconut. Cool completely.
