Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- cinnamon
- eggs - 3 item
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- packed brown sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- oil
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- chopped apples - 3 c
- Beat together oil and white and brown sugars; add eggs one at a time until well blended
- each: granulated sugar and brown sugar, packed - 3 Tbsp
How to make german apple cake:
Place chopped apples in lightly salted water while you prepare the batter. Beat together oil and white and brown sugars; add eggs one at a time until well blended. Sift together dry ingredients; add to sugar-egg mixture, mixing well. Stir in well drained apples, nuts and vanilla. Spread evenly in lightly oiled and floured Bundt or tube pan. Bake at 325° about 1 1/2 hours or until done. Cool in pan 20 minutes. Turn out onto wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle glaze over cake before serving.Glaze:3 Tbsp. butter3 Tbsp. each: granulated sugar and brown sugar, packed3 Tbsp. milk1/2 tsp. vanilla In a saucepan combine butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk and vanilla.
