Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 c
- brown sugar - 3/4 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- molasses
- hot water - 3/4 c
- Crisco shortening - 1 Tbsp
- unbaked pie crust - 1 item
How to make shoo-fly pie:
Mix brown sugar, shortening and flour into crumbs. Take out 1/2 cup of crumbs for the top. Take 1 tablespoon crumbs and spread on bottom of pie crust. To remaining crumbs, add molasses, egg, hot water and baking soda. When mixture is all mixed together, pour into pie crust and sprinkle the 1/2 cup crumbs on top and bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes; then bake at 350° for 20 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
