Garlic chicken
Ingredients/Components
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- oil - 1 Tbsp
- green onions, sliced - 4 item
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- dry white wine - 1 Tbsp
- hot cooked rice - 3 c
- boneless, skinless chicken breast halves - 4 item
- chicken bouillon granules - 1/2 tsp
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1/2 oz
- fresh mushrooms, sliced 2 c - 6 oz
- garlic 4 to 6 cloves - 1 Tbsp
How to make garlic chicken:
Cut chicken into 1/2-inch pieces.For Sauce: Stir together water, soy sauce, cornstarch, wine and bouillon granules; set aside.
Pour oil into a wok or frypan. Add oil as necessary. Heat over medium-high heat and stir-fry garlic about 15 seconds. Add mushrooms and onion; stir-fry about 1 minute or until vegetables are tender. Remove vegetables from wok. Add chicken to wok; stir-fry until no longer pink. Push chicken to the side; add sauce and cook until thickened and bubbly. Return vegetables to the wok and add water chestnuts. Stir and cook 1 minute longer, until heated through. Serve immediately over hot cooked rice. Serves 4.
