Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 1 qt
- sifted flour - 3 c
- warm water - 1 c
How to make fry bread:
In pan, heat oil to 360°. In bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in water; knead dough until no longer sticky. Cover and let stand 15 minutes. Pull off 2-inch balls. On a lightly floured surface, roll each until in a circle shape (1/4-inch thick). Pierce circles several times. Deep fry 2 or 3 at a time (cook 1 to 2 minutes).Recipe categories: Breads, Low cholesterol, Flat Shaped breads.
