Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- can evaporated milk - 1/2 item
- large can fruit cocktail - 1 item
- walnuts - 1/2 c
- rum extract - 2 tsp
- Hard Sauce:1 cube butter
How to make fruit cocktail cake:
Hard Sauce:1 cube butter1 c. sugar1/2 can evaporated milk2 tsp. rum extract Grease 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Preheat oven to 300°. Sift and mix together the first 5 ingredients. Stir in vanilla, fruit cocktail (undrained) and rum. Pour into pan and top with brown sugar and chopped walnuts. Bake for 1 hour.Hard Sauce: Add all ingredients to pan. Boil 3 minutes and then pour over warm cake.
